Show what you do: experience your brand!

Akoesta recently assisted interior architect Mulders van den Berk Architects with the design of the new Stadsdeelwerf Amsterdam Zuid. This is a complex of 6,200 square meters BVO with three floors, which forms the base for Amsterdam’s city cleaning department. Unique to the building is that it is an energy-producing building including the charging of all electric vehicles, in addition a large part of the interior and furniture is made from recycled materials!

The ground floor is here arranged as storage space for the large equipment. Waste, sweeping and maintenance vehicles drive here and there. The offices, changing rooms and canteen are located on the storeys above. The building – a design by BDG Architecten Ingenieurs and built by construction company Van Grootheest BV – is very modern and high quality finished, with lots of glass and hard materials. To optimize the acoustics and to create an optimal work experience for the employees, we have provided each workspace with special acoustic visuals. Especially for this project, photographs were taken of employees in their daily work by photographer Mylène Siegers. The result is beautiful images of the activities of the City Cleaning in the streets of Amsterdam. For example, the entire office is provided with beautiful images of the most important asset of the Stadswerf: its employees.
