Akoesta Retrofit: acoustic furniture upholstery

Akoesta Retrofit turns furniture you already own into acoustic elements. Instead of adding panels to the walls, it upholsters existing cabinets and units with a rock wool [stone wool] core and printable fabric, so the piece absorbs sound and reduces reverberation without taking up extra floor space.

Built on the same 56-series core, the upholstery runs from 35 to 56 mm thick, reaches an NRC of up to 0.95, and sizes up to 3 m long and 2 m high to fit almost any cabinet. Each surface carries a high-resolution print, so every workstation or department can choose its own colour, pattern or artwork. Covers are washable and stay fresh over time.

Because it reuses existing furniture and is made from recycled material that is recyclable at end of life, Retrofit is a low-waste route to better acoustics. Rated fire class B1 and freestanding, it suits offices, education and healthcare where floor space is tight and quiet is scarce.
